I am thinking about buying windows 3.1 but i have quite a few questions.

Can i just move the win 3.1 files onto a folder called doswin or is the disk or disks copy protected and just install the thing on my d dive with dosbox or will i not be able to use windows xp which is on my c drive.

I am wondering if i can still choose if i want windows 3.1 or windows xp.

Is it possible to run both operating systems at once xp and windows 3.1 with dosbox or will that slow things down quite a lot.

Will windows 3.1 games run with dosbox.

How would i mount windows 3.1 and run it in xp from dosbox. I have a really old game that requires windows 3.1

I have seen pics of windows 3.1 and i am wondering how do i minimize and maximize the files and where will all the files be in windows 3.1 and how would i close windows 3.1 would i shut it down or will that shut down xp as well or would i just click the exit button on dosbox.

Do i have to use dynamic mode or normal mode and how many cycles would i need to run windows 3.1 and is it possible to use windows 3.1 without dosbox. How do i choose what operating system i want.

How would i start windows 3.1 with dosbox on xp.

Will their be anything special i will have to do to run windows 3.1 and is their any files i may need to run it that do not have any viruses in them.

Ok i don't really understand your posting.

In general you can install win3.x in any subdirectory using dosbox.
You should *definitely* be sure that you mount a subdirectory,
and not the root of your drive.

So you do a
"mount c c:\oldstuff\win3xcdrive"
"mount d c:\oldstuff\win3xinstall"
then install win3x from d:

Win3x running inside dosbox runs, well, *inside* dosbox so the question
about if you reboot your pc in order to close win3x makes no sense,
same for most of the others. It's the same as running a game inside
dosbox, if you're finished you can quit the game (win3x) or just close dosbox.

Whether a game works under dosbox+win31 of course depends on the
game so you'd best test that yourself. Some work, some don't.

Abyss, please look at the guide, the link has been posted by wd.
Also, please consider making your text more readable by adding paragraphs and such. It's almost unreadable the way it is now.

No.
Most of them are already answered by the above and/or can be
derived by searching the forum, especially the guides.
If there's really an open question AFTER you had a look yourself,
feel free to reformulate it.
