Hi, i was wondering if anyone could solve my current problem

I'm trying to play jagged alliance deadly games over the internet with my friend.
i've been able to get the ipxnet connect to work with my laptop which is on the same server as me but when it comes to connecting across the internet to my friend it won't work.
The problem i see thus far is that he has the same IP address on his network (connected through a router) as one of the computers on my network (connected through a router), and his default gateway is also the same.
How is my computer suppose to connect to his, or vice versa if they can't tell the different between them?
I've changed his IP address to a unique one but something tells me the IPXNET CONNECT *HIS IP* is still searching for something on my network, or something like that.
Any help would be great???

Olmstov - it all depends on what your router you have. You should go to this site for instructions that matches your router:

You really have to think how your connections are set up:

PC1 (IP1) -- ROUTER1 (IP2) -- internet -- ROUTER2 (IP3) -- PC2 (IP4)

PC1 knows its own IP address and all the addresses on the internet (including ROUTER2 address), but not PC2 address (since it's behind a router). Same for PC2, it knows everything (ROUTER1) but not where PC1 is. PC1 and PC2 cannot connect to each other. This is where port forwarding comes to play. With port forwarding you instruct your router to forward any data it receives to PC1 (or PC2 incase of ROUTER2). Application is probably just a name, so you know what this rule is for, the rest is simple...you instruct ROUTER1 to forward data to PC1 and ROUTER2 to forward data to PC2. This way PC1 connects to ROUTER2, but ROUTER2 will forward it to PC2 😀. For this to work, you also need to figure out you public IP addressess (IP2 and 3) since this is the address you connect to (visit a page like http://www.whatismyip.com to get ROUTER1 and 2 addresses).
