yes i have output set to direct draw and yes i tried both full screen and windowed.

the reason i want to use it is to capture a annoying issue in settlers II gold edition that occurs no matter what i set cycles to.

I believe fraps only captures Direct3D and OpenGL applications and games. DirectDraw is not the same thing as Direct3D.

Have you tried OpenGL output?

Also, DOSBox has a built-in video capture, using the ZMBV codec. Read the readme.txt file in the DOSBox/zmbv/ folder.

worma armageddon is direct draw only and it works fine =\ so is many other programs i used fraps in.
