Hi

I may be totally dump but was unable to find the replacement for the CTRL-ALT-FX shortcuts in linux, for example CTRL-ALT-F5 is capture to video, but in linux these type of shortcuts are reserved for other things. I've tryed CTRL-ALT-5 and CTRL-SHIFT-F5, even CTRL-ALT-ESC-5 but neither was with the desired result.

I also cannot fint the answer in vaious guides and faqs.

Thanks.

Have a look at the mapper (ctrl-f1), if that key combination is also occupied
by some useful linux thing look in the readme for some start parameter
that puts up the mapper window right away.

Thanks, me stupid. I just expected to see it on the man or on the info page, then on the faqs, forum posts, not in a file. BTW althoug i configured with --prefix=/usr docs did not get installed on my system in /usr/share/doc/dosbox as stated in tha man.

Docs are the readme and dosbox.conf comments. Think docs installing
was disabled some time ago, Qbix might know.

not in a file

What "not in a file"?? It's not a problem of dosbox, but a configuration
problem where you have too many shortcuts so some program
(in this case dosbox) won't get them.

IMHO the info should not be in a file which is hard to find. Better be in the manpage (well it is technically a file also), but the man i usually the fist place to look at.

CTRL-ALT-FX are always reserved by the X server/virtual consoles so I believe the configure should detect linux/unix and change the shortcuts internally to a better combination.

the higher numbers aren't reserved at my place.
So it is all to your own tweaking.
