You need to run an installation program that will do that for you.
For starters you need a cd-rom drive (where you install from) and a folder in your harddrive (where you install to).
E.g.
Go to My PC and create a new folder on C: called msdos
Enter DOSBox
Z:\>mount c c:\msdos
Z:\>mount -cd (to see a list of available cd-rom in your system.)
CDROMs found: 1
0. F:\ (For me it's letter F. For you may be a different letter)
Z:\>mount d f:\ -t cdrom
Z:\>d:
D:\>dir
to see what is the name of the installation program. Usually install, setup or whatever
D:\>INSTALL
When prompted, install to harddrive c: and name a folder to install game to. Example C:\GAME1 (I advise using short filenames)
After installing....
D:\>C:
C:\>cd game1 (the folder we just installed game into)
C:\GAME1\>dir
to see what's the right command to launch it.
C:\GAME\>play.bat
Thanks, I am using Windows XP Home.
So, step one, download DOSbox. Do I SAVE it, or RUN it??????
I figure, save it. Created a folder, now, your next step is,
"Enter DOSbox". "ENTER"??????????? WTF does "enter" mean?
Double click? Right-click and select "Run" what????????? Right click and select "Open"??????????
The next line you type says,
"Z:\>mount c c:\msdos"
Okay, LISTEN, will you PLEASE>?>? MANY PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND!!!! You have to be specific, specific, specific.
I happen to think you mean, "In the window that will appear, type the following:"
YOU CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT assume anything.
every single tiny baby step has to be spelled out. Literally spelled out.
YES, I really am that stupid!
