Please make "saved states" or "RAM dump" feature for DOSbox, as it will allow gamers to save a game, even if it doesn't support saving.

Some games support saving poorly:

-has small number of save slots
-Speaking of GUI, it is best to see a screenshot of the saved states, something that no DOS game does. (like in VirtualPC you see)
-allow saving only at certain points, such as end-of-level
-buggy saving feature
...

Yes, please! Savestates are one of the features that makes emulation so great. You're not bound to some stupid saving system. It helps a lot when playing through old games, especially action titles. That feature is common for modern emulators, even the ones for relatively modern system, like the N64 or PSX.

Qbix/wd: would that be achievable? Did you already think about that functionality, or even tried to implement it? What would be the priority of this functionality? Would be very interesting to hear your opinion on this.

DOSBox developers:
Well, I have found pre-alpha-quality software on the net: CryoPID, which theoretically can work on Linux, but only for simple applications, such as vim, or irssi, not DOSbox.

You could contact with their developers to ask how to make such a system work best, from technical point of view.

>The target is to save/load the emulated dos game/program, not some
linux application (e.g. dosbox).

Yes, I understand. But for the end-user the difference is very small, except file-size.
The bigger difference for users is the ability to port between host OSes.
