Hello,

I have two questions and problems:

1. I am recorded some videos from old DOOM 2 DOS and DOS prompt. Reciording worked fine, but when it comes to play back, I get wrong colors like red is blue, blue is red. According to ZMBV Codec Bug ... thishappens on 64-bit Windows, but I don't have 64-bit Windows XP. I have 32-bit! How do I fix this?

2. I picked GUS for DOOM's setup.exe, but I hear no MIDI music. I checked the volumes in game and in Windows XP Pro. SP2. What am I doing wrong? I don't want to use any other MIDI like FM, General MIDI, etc. GUS is the best!

Thank you in advance. 😀

I had the same problem, if you are using an ati video card, you might try opening the catylist control center, and under video options - windows media settings, uncheck the box that says "windows media video acceleration". Fixed it for me. Don't know what to tell you about the sound problem.

Well, I have a NVIDIA card (GeForce 7950 GT KO) and the latest beta driver. I forgot to mention that I have an Audigy 2 ZS sound card.

Interesting. VirtualDub had no problems playing back with the colors, but other players like Windows Media Player (v6.4, v10, and Classic) showed the wrong colors. VLC couldn't show the video.

Also in VirtualDub, I can't seem to encode to DivX with MP3 codec. Is anyone else having this problem too?

For GUS MIDI functionality you'll need the patch set that comes with the original GUS DOS drivers. This page on the DOSBox Wiki explains how to obtain and install them.

Thanks and interesting. How come DOSBox doesn't come with it preinstalled? DOSBox can do the other MIDI.
