Hello , I have a strange problem, with DOSBOX 0.70 when playing with BattleChess 4000 the screen shows "os_size changed" message onscreen each 2-3 seconds, and filling the game screen.
The game displays 640x480 256 colour SVGA and in setup I selected Trident SVGA, there was no S3. The game works flawlessly but such message keeps on appearing obscuring the game screen.

I have tried several games and this is the first one that does that . Is that a internal DOSBOX message or what?

Any help appreciated, thanks!

Ertoil.

SVGA - isn't that 800x600?
don't think DOSBox supports SVGA.
Is this an official DOSBox 0.70 or some patched version? Where did you get it from?

SVGA is a "standard" of graphics cards, dosbox sticks to the s3 definition.
If the game doesn't provide a specific s3 implementation you can't use
another one as you did (trident).
Don't they have a VESA selection? That's the unified standard for higher
resolutions. If not try ykhwong's build, there you can select different svga
emulations (vasyl's svga patch).
