Is there a way to export a saved game file and save it onto your hard drive? The way I see the mounting is like a RAM disk, where the game is loaded somewhere in memory and destroyed when DOSBox is closed. But there is a file I want to grab before I close DOSBox, so that I don't have to leave my computer on to continue the game!

DosBox mounts your host file system. You are directly accessing your host file system. So if you save a game or delete a file then you saved the game or deleted the file directly onto or off of your hard drive.

Repeatedly requested. AKA "save states". See the DOSBox wish list or use the search function.
