Hi guys and girls...

I used this tutorial for trying to run my settlers from CD.

60 seconds guide to getting your game to run in DOSBox

When i get to stage 5 trying to run the install file i get the following message.

please run this installation with windows 3.1 or higher.

Im using Windows XP Home Edt.

I'd appreciate any comments.

What version of the many Settlers game is this? Sure it is a DOS-game?

im pretty sure that is the autorun or something that is saying that... the gold edition has a autorun screen in it, but i dunno if there are autorun stuff for win3.1

ben3001, maybe the DOS install programm is not called "setup.exe", but "install.exe" or "dossetup.exe" or something like that. I've also seen CD games where the DOS setup was in a subdirectory on the CD (like DOS or DOSDATA).

You could do a "dir <cdrom-drive> >c:\dir.txt" command in a CMD window or inside DOSBox, and post the resulting file here. Or tell us which Settlers version you're using exactly.
