Dosbox 0.70 has done something no other dosbox versions could. It passed 0.58's amount of supported games. It has 846 games supported and 0.58 only has 844 games.

It's a user maintained database (sort of, RedAvatar screwed this 😉 ),
so of course the amount of supported games depends on how many
games were tested and put into the compatibility database.
I don't think it's amazing. I think it's a tribute to the work of the programmers.
Way to go!!!
I have traveled across the universe and through the years to find Her.
Sometimes going all the way is just a start...
I think the really amazing fact is not that dosbox 0.70 supports more games than dosbox 0.58 does, but that only 16 games are reported to be broken, compared to 278 broken games (?) under dosbox 0.58.
By the way: How much up to date is that compatibility list?

0.58 didn't have protected mode
DOSBox is incredible, and it just keeps on getting better.
And whenever I install a game that has a pretty high expanded memory requirement, I reflect on the irony that it's generally easier to get these games running than it was when I installed them in the original OS.
Cigars all around, along with a fur-lined bathtub, for the DOSBox team (not that any of you would necessarily want those things). 😉
