I have been using DOSBOX for ages but installing it on my laptop in Vista has bought about a few problems. It has 1GB of RAM but everytime I play a game and go from one screen to another or dialogue from a character is loading there is a sound stutter (a gap in the sound basically) wihch gets annoying. Just wondered if changing the value of the sound prebuffer would make any difference? Or maybe something else?

Thanks in advance.

Try setting the mixer rate, and the rate of the emulated PC Speaker from 22050 to 44100. I had a problem that the emulated PC Speaker sound stuttered or produced weird distorted sounds on my new computer but this fixed it.
