Hi,
my goal was to put all of my dos games on a virtual IMG Harddisk, so that they are spereated from my normal windows file system.
I have created a 500 MB Harddisk with bximage and mounted it with dosbox.

Well, It´s kinda working 50%, because when i´m trying to install or unrar games on the mounted IMG File, DOSbox crashes everytime when starting copying (x-wing cd for example)
This is not happening when I´m installing it on a mounted drive on my real HD. Right now i´m installing the game on another drive and then move it to the IMG Harddisk.

Any Ideas why this is happening?

I´m using Vista Business 32 with UAC disabled and full administrator privileges.

EDIT: Oh and something else. When copying files to the IMG Harddisk, every dir and every file is dated 00-00-1980 00:00. Is this a bug?

I am not quite sure, but I think I remember wd saying something about that writing to IMG-files was not thoroughly tested, that they were mostly meant for reading. So I am not surprised that you experience problems during installation and that the timestamps are all wrong.

Have you tried one of the (unstable) development versions?

Ehm... Why do you want to use an image in the first place? DOSBox' way of file handling is very convenient, and the "mount directory" approach is the default way of handling virtual drives. I can't think of any valid reason at all to use images. The only real reason i can think about is using an image for booting some OS.
