When I capture movie using DOSBox, it seems that DOSBox doesn't record music play through Audio CD Track. Is it by-design or I had made a wrong setting? I have tried capturing wave too but it gives an silent wave file.

I have tried recording game which doesn't use audio CD for music and it works for both movie/wave recording.

What can I do?

This is by design. Try a cue/bin as that is routed through the mixer.

Thanks wd.
Sorry to be a moron, how to routed through the mixer?
I have tried using virtual drive or real cd and mount it at DOSBox, both doesn't record the sound
I have skimmed the readme file and it gives no hints.

Thank you for your patience 😁

You don't need to route through the mixer by yourself. That is simply what happens when you use a cue/bin combination (that's a disk image format, like ISO). You can use something like isobuster to rip a CD to .BIN (rather than .ISO).

The "routed through the mixer" was just a note to why the regular cd audio
playing (ie. audio cd in a real/virtual cdrom) can not be recorded: it bypasses
dosbox so we can't really control that.
Like Kippesoep says, just using a cue/bin (mounting the cue) should take care
of givint that control back to dosbox.

I know some audio playing programs read the audio data from audio tracks straight off the disc, rather than letting the OS or drive handle the playback. Would adding such a capability to DOSBox be worth the trouble?

Yeah, but I don't see it becoming a feature for all supported hosts as we support CD images

Indeed that'd be a part i would expect the SDL people to care of, but they are
quite straight forward on the "media" part in their name (they removed the cdrom
support completely for 1.3, nice move).
