I know you guys dont want people saying "Can you get X game working please?" and such but Ive been reading dosbox posts and downloading the latest version for well over a year now...and I just wanted to know:

Is it possible Impulse tracker will ever work on Dosbox?

Or is it somthing that just uses specialist cpu op codes or whatever? (obviously I dunno what im talking about here)

am I gonna have to break the bank and buy an additional PC? (urk)

Oh, and the first person to mention "Win32 Tracker" will receive a visit from the bother boys 😜

Great proggy tho guys! Was able to play BI2 again 😁

I Though that runs for quite a while now. Not sure though. I think Harekiet knows more about it as he tests sometimes Trackers

But Impulse Tracker runs fine in a Win2K/XP command prompt if you set up VDMSound properly... It's the XM tracker (crap, can't remember the name at the moment) that won't work.

/me cries

I suffer from the big EMS problem lots of people are suffering from these days. I even installed win98 on my machine and that didnt let me use EMS either.

At the moment I can load chip tunes and anything under 50k in impulse tracker usualy, but apart from that... 🙁

Fast tracker works tho! But If you know anything about tracker's and their tracker's (um) then dont even suggest it 😜

thats why I was hoping dosbox will run it sometime, but I need to know if i can go on hoping 😀

Try this, create a file named GO.BAT and edit it to contain the single command MEM /C, the run it with VDMSound (right-click and choose Run with VDMS), it should report something like the following:

Also, take a look at disabling features like BIOS-level USB support, as these often eat up memory locations.
