Someone got an x86 emulator with Win9x running on the Ipad...

I wonder what this is. Doesn't look like Bochs or Dosbox.

Running Win2K in a VM with hardware 3D acceleration doesn't really help, though, since I already have 2 actual XP machines.

Yeah, but some years from now XP will become uninstallable on new hardware just like W9x is now.... Ad then there are the people who don't like or have native Windows.

I heard it was Bochs on the iPad, but didn't verify it.

And by then none of the VMs will support XP as a guest OS any more either :p Maybe by then we'll have WinBox though.

The VMs are just there in order to run older Windows! Of course they will support Windows XP, just like now that they support Windows 9.x. Just try a non 3D game in VMware and you will see how great it is working.

What about openGL in Windows 2000? Is it accelerated? In that case, you may try WineD3D to support DirectX 7, 8, 9 and 10 over openGL and get acceleration.
