I am trying to install a game using DOSBox,as the installer crashes under Win2k. It will install alright, but it will only allow me 20MB or 60MB installs as it thinks my hard drive is only 105MB. However, I have 20GB spare on that drive. The problem is that I need to do a full install of 200MB in order to get the game to work. Does anyone know of a way for me to increase the size of the hard drive that DOSBox "sees"? By the way, it reports the hard drive to be 105MB both in the game installer and in DOSBox itself when I type "dir".

I'd never thought of it before but now that you say it...
I see 110 mb free in a drive where I have 4 GB spare.
In my DRDOS 6.0 Manual says the maximum size of a harddisk it can handle is 2 GB, I guess that's because FAT16 limitations.
Anyway, I have no idea how dosbox deals with this, please developers enlighten us! 😀

Dosbox always reports 105 mb free no matter what your drive size is.

this is done for really old games that can't handle sizes above 200 mb

To fix this look in the readme (of course where else? ):)

  4. To mount a drive with 870 mb free diskspace (rarely needed! experts only):
mount c d:\ -size 4025,127,16513,1700
