The PC speaker emulation is very loud on my system so everytime I play a game in Dosbox that used the speaker I have to turn down the volume.
The FAQ suggests using the windows mixer to just lower DOSBox volume. That works but it'd be nice if the volume level could be set within DOSBox. Maybe a config file entry would be possible?
the readme speaks about the dosbox mixer, not the windows mixer.
So the functionality you want is already present 😀

Put your mixer commands in the autoexec section of the config file
Yes, that's what I was doing but I thought maybe there was some way to globally apply these settings. On the other hand that would not really fit the idea of the conf file. So all is fine, I guess. 😀
