im trying to run impulse tracker 2 in dosbox on a windows xp os. the sound is ok, but impulse tracker runs to slowly. can i make it go faster without loosing to much sound quality?

ive tried to rtf but im to incompetent to understand it. so please try to explain in a simple way. thanks.

Why don't you just use VDMSound instead? It will take awhile until computers are fast enough to run Impulse Tracker good enough.

Wait for the next version (very soon).
It'll have Gravis Ultrasound support which works with IT.
It IS faster because mixing is performed in dosbox routines,
while with SoundBlaster driver in mixing is performed in an emulated x86 CPU
and is much slower.
But IT works with vdmsound as well so you can choose.
