Hello,

I cannot seem to get DOSBox to run full-screen on my computer.

I have an NEC LCD1511M 15" TFT panel, native @ 1024x768. A DOS prompt under Win2K will work fine; the panel is capable of 640x400, 740x400 and 640x480, which is fine for most DOS games. For mode 13h games, it seems to automatically scale them up to 640x400 (according to the OSD).

When I try to switch to/start full-screen with a normal DOSBox session, I get an "out of range" error on the display panel. I can force DOSBox to stick to 640x480, but then I end up with black borders top and bottom, which wind me up, because I *know* it's not working right.

I do not understand where the problem lies, as the monitor is supposed to be natively capable of 640x400 and I know that DOSBox, by default (is there a way to change it?) runs in a 640x400 window.

In the hope that it helps, here are the resolutions/refresh rates I get while playing games under Windows DOS (Win2K)

Full-screen console / DOS prompt:
640x400, fH = 31.47kHz ( - polarity), fV = 69.93Hz ( + polarity)

DOS Game - Carrier Command, VGA16
640x400, fH = 31.44kHz ( - polarity), fV = 69.93Hz ( + polarity)

DOS Game - Legend (4 Crystals of Trazare), mode 13h
640x400, fH = 31.44kHz ( - polarity), fV = 69.93Hz ( + polarity)

DOS Game - M.A.X., (VESA?) 640x480, 256 colours,
640x480, fH = 31.44kHz ( - polarity), fV = 59.94 (- polarity)

It is interesting to note:
I can minimise/restore the DOS prompt without difficulty. However, if I try to task-switch a game, I get the same style of "out of range" error as I do when using DOSBox.

Oh yeah, I'm running Win2K SP4, with an ATI Radeon 9600, Catalyst (Reference) 3.7.

No, using a CRT is not an option 😜

Happy to help all I can.
