Depends on the program being run inside DOSBox, the amount of sound processing and video output the game has, etc.

Hi ViLe, I run a XP2200+ system and am quite happily plodding along with 4500 cycles, normal CPU core, 128MB, frameskip 0, default soundcard settings (22050). The only thing I have disabled is the modem as I have no use for it.... I've tested quite a few games with DOSBox with delightful results - Fantasy General, Sea Rogue, and more of my old DOS fav's I refuse to stop playing work great. DOSBox, along with STeem (Atari ST Emulator), Spectaculator (ZX Spectrum), MAME, and WinUAE are essential additions to my Windows 2000 / SuSE Linux box... good karma to the devs, and I look forward to the day Carmageddon works perfectly ;o)
