Let me start by saying this program is really really great! 😀
I'm running the newest source on Linux Slackware 9.1 and it works great for the most part.

My problem is that if I try to run anything that requires higher than a 386 (eg: Quest for Glory 3, One must Fall 2097, Wolfenstein) it runs a little slow. So I tried the suggestion of increasing CPU cyles. That helps but the sound becomes way too distrorted and misplaced...even if I only hit CTRL+F12 once! 😒

I keep hearing about more resource eating games being run and I winder if I'm doing something wrong here? I have pentium 3 900mhz with 768 ram. Are there some things I can add to the config file to speed up a bit? Thanks.

That's strange, I have an athlon 900MHz with 128Mo of RAM, and I can run OMF 2097 and Wolf3D on linux without any problem (frameskip 1, cycles: 5000).

Are you using some heavy window manager like recent KDE/Gnome?

well I experienced that arts can sometimes be the bottleneck.
Futher a X is sometimes a pain the ass as well.

Try looking on the cpu usages when running dosbox.
if your X hits in a lot(10%>). try changing some parameters (like displaydepth)
