Dosbox 0.74, I haven't tweaked any config files so everything is stock.
What's going on here?

On a separate issue, I'm unable to load the game unless I run the game's setup.exe first and test sound & music. otherwise I get this:
DOSBox version 0.74
Copyright 2002-2010 DOSBox Team, published under GNU GPL.
---
CONFIG:Loading primary settings from config file /home/antic/.dosbox/blood.conf
MIXER:Got different values from SDL: freq 44100, blocksize 940
ALSA:Can't subscribe to MIDI port (65:0) nor (17:0)
MIDI:Opened device:none
DOSBox switched to max cycles, because of the setting: cycles=auto. If the game runs too fast try a fixed cycles amount in DOSBox's options.
I just read the sticky about posts for game-specific problems to be posted elsewhere. Sorry about that.
Sorry, I know you said about this being in the wrong forum, but I can't find this same thread anywhere else, so is this the only thread you made about it? Anyway, did you solve the problem? If not, I can send you my DOSBox configuration file, which is from the Good Old Games (GOG) Blood collection, to see if that helps. Your problem might be down to the DOSBox command 'Output=', I think - see here for more information:
Re: DOSBOX config "output=" explanation?
Blood does work fine with DOSBox, I don't know how hard it is to set up though, since I've only used the version I bought from GOG, so perhaps they're using a different version of DOSBox or Blood to what you're using, I don't know.
Edit: There's a free, standalone, fan-made version of Blood that's 99.9% authentic, and it's really good. Plus it's native to Windows, meaning it has higher resolution support, better mouse control, etc.
Get BloodCM from:
http://www.moddb.com/games/bloodcm
or:
http://m210.duke4.net/index.php
and regarding the (optional) high-resolution graphics pack, the version on ModDB is old, grab the latest version here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/bloodcmhrp/files
Make sure you check "enable autoload folder" in BloodCM's Launcher.
I've never encountered such a problem with Blood.
Maybe the game itself is corrupted.
The only real problem with Blood on DOSBox 0.74 is that 320x400 graphics is broken.
This seems to be fixed in SVN.
