Enlarging the size of the screen

Postby Harve White » 2017-12-21 @ 06:54

My wife loves to play her dos games in DOSBox but the playing area is so small (about 1/6 the size of the screen) that it makes playing hard sometimes. Is there any way to enlarge the game to the size of the screen (full screen) or at least make it larger than it is now? Thanks in advance for your help. Just out of curiosity, why does DOSBox make the playing area so small?

Study the documentation for the conf file:

These are the original screen dimensions of that time.

Just to clarify: the "original dimensions" are in pixels, not inches or millimeters. So a game might use one of the standard resolutions of the time, something like 640x480 pixels, and that's the number of pixels DOSBox (correctly) gives it, even on current high-resolution monitors.
