hi,

i'm new with dosbox and i wanted to run games like "ascendancy" in windows xp.

my computer is a notebook with a P4 2.8, 512 MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9600 and a realtek AC'97 onboard soundcard.

first i tried to activate all soundemulations in the dosbox.conf file. then i've tested every possible emulated soundcard with setsound.exe but never any sound is coming through. (i am sure that i made the settings in the setsound correctly.)

is there a solution for this problem ?

CruS - I don't know abut Ascendancy or that setsound program, but I *think* it might be a problem for DOSBox if you enable *all* the sound options, since some of them interfere with each other (or so I think).

Question: Can you get other sound from other games/programs?

ok ... sorry ... i have to correct myself. i tried to run sam'n'max with sound and it fully works ... but all other games i've tried before doesn't play any sound.

the games i've testes were: ascendancy (no sound), day of the tentacle (no sound), muds (no sound), sam'n'max (full working sound, maybe a bit laggy)

in dosbox.conf i only enabled the soundblaster emulation.
(but i also tried all the other emulations before)

why all these games won't play any sound?
(the settings i made for the soundblaster were IO:220 IRQ:7 DMA:1)
