Hey all,

I'm trying to get dosbox to work on an old win98 machine i have.

It's hardware is something like
P3-750
ASUS 440BX motherboard (don't remember exact name)
256MB Ram
ASUS GeForce2 GTS
Windows 98

So dos games actually work on ithe machine without DOSBox, but when I used TV-out, the games were in black and white. Somebody suggested I use DOSBox. However, when I try to run DOSBOX (both .60 and .61), they just freeze. it pops up with two windows, one is the MS-DOS and the other is the program window. but the program window is just blank and does nothing (as opposed to coming up with the message and prompt). So why does that happen, and how do I fix it? let me know if more info is needed about this.

Well atleast the dosbox binaries are for the new windows generation. Dont see much point in running dosbox in older windows versions. Sounds like you should rather play with your gfx card settings to get it right. you cpu is also pretty slow so newer games wouldn't run well, but dunno what you are trying to run.

well dosbox runs in win98 just fine. Not sure why not at your place.
You could older version of sdl.dll to see if that helps.
