Only really know Macs. I assume all PC games are not DOS? Is there a system name/number cutoff point where DOS is left behind for the newer OS version games?

not dos == windows games.
so when win95 arrived (around that. most games ran on both at that time. but then the pure dos game market rapidly dropped)
