Hi everyone

Need a bit of advice.

I have installed swos 96/97 through DOSBOX and when i go into the last stage of actually entering the game ie:

D:\swos\swos\sws

the game starts to load then I get a CDROM driver error.

any help please 😊 ???????

also I have tried to play it through VDMS but it will not alllow me to set up the joystivk in config after a few hundred trys. I have tried both versions and removed the REM in the config file.

any help please 😊 ???????

First of all don't install swos through dosbox, do it in windows with the setup file.
Start install in windows to. Saving the settings in windows will get you a higher Video Speed Index. That will lead to better graphic in the game.
Also you have to mount your cd/dvd-drive so the game read the cd.
How it's done type:
intro cdrom (in dosbox)

you dont need DosBox for SWoS, it runs fine under WinXP.
The only problem is the sound, when I select a sound driver manually(via install.exe) it is recognized correctly but the game crashes after the intro, when I try to start the game with vdmsound it doesn't start ("CDROM driver error")

Of course the CD is mounted correctly... this error doesn't occur when I start the game without any sound;
then the game's working just fine.
