I have been able to play Magic Carpet and Hi-Octane in stereoscopic 3D on a homemade head-mounted display, because the available patches cause them to display the scene in side-by-side mode. Other games, like Armored Fist 2, Comanche 3 and Magic Carpet 2 have a stereoscopic mode, but it's interlaced.
Back when those games were new it made sense to have an interlaced mode, because it was meant to be used with shutterglasses, and the two parts of the scene (for the left eye and for the right eye) could alternate very quickly. However, no modern stereoscopic display supports interlaced mode. What I need, instead, is a way to separate the two images while the game is running, so that the lines that are meant for the left eye are displayed on the left side of the screen, while the lines that are meant for the right eye are displayed on the right side on the screen. Is there any version of DosBox that does that (through shaders or otherwise)?
