When I loaded DOS Box I say something that said I could use F11 and F12 to adjust the speed of the computer. But when I use those F keys it brings up a map of the keyboard. Also my program requires the use of ctrl/F1 but that also brings up the map. How can I use F11, F12 and ctrl/F1?

In DOSBox:
Ctrl+F1 => opens DOSBox keymapper
Ctrl+F11 => decreases CPU cycles
Ctrl+F12 => increases CPU cycles

You can modify all of those keyboard mappings in the keymapper.

You can modify all of those keyboard mappings in the keymapper.

You can also use the cycles command to set the cycles to a particular value. This can be done at the DOS prompt or in the autoexec section of the DOSBox configuration file.
