I don't know, this feels like it should be an obvious problem, but i didn't find a solution in the FAQs or on the boards... I'm trying to play discworld, but when i save it doesnt work, the save will never get created and thereas disapears...
what could it be?

you don't run from cdrom i hope ?
and make sure you aren't using some weird rip which is missing save directories.

I don't know a thing about discworld. but it's usally one of the above causes.

I've got the same problem. The cause of it under DOSBox (0.63 in my case) is that for saving a game, Discworld changes to the SAVE folder but does not change back to the game root. One can see that by saving twice subsequently and exploring the folder structure -- it would be SAVE/SAVE the last save done into the deepest one.
When run under standard WinXP DOS emulator, the game saves all right (no sound though obviously).

I've played thru the CD version of Discworld 1 (original game) in DOSBox with no problems. Not any problems after the patch anyway 😜
