compiling dosbox for linux debian based

Hello

I try to compile dosbox under linux (debian based) and I get an error that SDL is missing. Well, I download it but I don´t know how to install it. There is no files that indicate the way of installation.

can someone help me ?

I have also dowloaded a linux rpm but I don´t know what to do . there is no files to install

Type the following command as root:

apt-get install libsdl1.2-dev libsdl-net1.2-dev libpng12-dev

This will give you most of the needed files. Not all but enough to compile a good dosbox

(you can skip the latter 2 if they don't exist (they do in testing))
(The first one is sdl package you want)
