Hello Everybody,
i was wondering why Virtual PC is so much faster in emulating the x86.
I'm not talking about Virtual PC for x86 (which might be kind of a virtualization
layer like VMWare), i'm talking about the Virtual PC version that runs on
a Mac (PowerPC).
On my old G4 450Mhz Virtual PC comes close to a Pentium computer.
It still runs Win2K to an acceptable extent.
Don't get me wrong, i really think DOSBox is a great emulator and it's
much more compatible than Virtual PC, but what the hell is it what makes
Virtual PC that fast? Is it only because of its fast dynamic recompilation
core?
Would it be possible to gain similar speeds when having a specialized
x86=>PowerPC emulation core?
Cheers,
Peter
