I've seen different words or terminology in regards to "creating a folder" - if copy the program files of a DOS program from a DINOSAUR PC that I want to FINALLY get rid of...because I still want to use the ONE program...do I take those files and put them in a folder on the DESKTOP then NAME the folder...or does this need to occur in a different location than the Desktop ?

It can be pretty much anywhere and called just about anything. There may be issues with some special characters (I haven't tried weird symbols). For consistency, I recommend following 6.3 naming for any subdirs below your DOSBox mount points.
