I've just downloaded dosbox v6.3 but I can't get it to start after clicking dosbox.exe
There's no console window, no error message (tried capturing it in command.com), etc.
I'm using geforce4 mx440, directx9.0 on winxp pro.
Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated!

On a more serious note. 0.6.3. Did you download and install it using the official installer from the DOSBox Web site?

yeah..i did. Anyway, thanks for correcting me. Good news is, I've solved that problem and dosbox is working fine now. The solution is to click the properties of the dosbox.exe file and select the option to run the application in 640x480 resolution. Didn't know I have to manually do that because dosbox works fine on my other notebook.
That should not need to be done. There is something else happening.
Last I recall, DOSBox will not run if your colour depth is 24-bit. If this is what your colour depth is set to, change it to 16-bit or 32-bit.

I have a problem like that, and after a wile I relized that the problem came from the joystick device, everytime it's plugged dosbox hangs, but you unplug it and dosbox runs fine. I haven't come with a solution, if anyone does, please replay it. For you to know it's a basic 2 axis 2 butons, and the dosbox recognize it just fine.
