I have quite a few games that require DOSBOX.
They come from GOG, Steam, and other sources.
They all install a separate copy of DOXBOX, many of which are very old versions.

Is there a way to set things up so these games can run from a single up-to-date installation of DOXBOX?

I'd create a symbolic link with mklink /s everywhere you want to target that single version of dosbox.exe.

I think that is pretty much the only way to go

I've taken some GOG games out of their installation directory and mounted and played them manually using DOSbox. It requires lots of manual work. Using symbolic links sounds like a good solution.
