Is it possible, to run DOSBOX on WIN98SE?
I know, there is a builtin DOS box in WIN98SE.
I want to run a program (AD2181SIM) which runs only on plain vanillaa DOS
- and on DOS BOX with WIN XP.
I have only WIN98SE and hope DOSBOX on WIN98SE will also do.
Yes, DosBox works in 98SE.
The "DosBox" in Windows 98 isn't a "DosBox", would be more accurate to refer to it as a "Command Prompt" to reduce confusion.
Under W98SE you can also press F8 when booting and select command-prompt only. That will take you to plain old ms-dos.
I've been doing that over the last few days, actually - I managed to get Pinball Dreams/Fantasies running natively. So nice 😉

You will also need a SoundBlaster (or SB compatible card) to get sound under native ms-dos.
