Today i've tested DOSBox in Windows XP home. We would run an older medical-Software (DOS- based) for using under XP. These Software takes an serial cardreader on Com1 to read Chipcards to identyfy Persons. But there was no communication between Program and Cardreader. With XP-CMD it works 1-2% from 100 Tests. The rest displays Protokoll-Failure. If we start DOS from Disk it works right.
Cable & harware are ok. The com-setting in DOSBOX.conf are enabled and set to 9600 8n1. But theres not way to set Hardware/xonXoff .. protocol and control the executet settings in DOSBOX like DOS-mode.com-Command.
You see an possebility to get correct Funktion ? The Doc's Program cannot export the Personality-Data(more of hundrets) to Import in newer Software.
(Alternate we can write the Data into a new program for Days...Weeks or...) 😢
The printing of Data - Lpt1 to Epson-ESCP2 printer works perfect.
