Problems with lighting in fullscreen mode

Didn't know where to search, tried lighting but didn't get any help. Anyways when I am playing a game the game is normal color when I am playing in the smaller screen mode, but once I full screen it it gets much darker. I can still see the game, but it is annoying. I tried playing around with my color schematics on my computer but they had no effect on how light the screen got in dosbox when I fullscreened it. Any suggestions? thanks.

Some monitors (especially aged monitors) have darker picture in some resolutions. Mostly it happens when they are operated near their refresh rate limits. So you can try to choose a different (less capable) monitor model in your OS, or you can try to use fullfixed=<something> to force dosbox into using a different video mode.
Another possibility could be strange gamma correction in OpenGL/Direct3D. Try playing with the output= option to see if that's the problem.
