Hi guys!

Since I can't get my good old Sidewinder to work under Win2000, I'm thinking about buying a new Joystick. Now I've got a question: I was always someone who needed as much buttons as possible, because I just HATED looking on the keyboard for the right key. That's why I'm thinking about getting the Logitech Freedom, but... if I configure the buttons with the Logitech software, will I be able to use all of them in dosbox? I heard that dosbox only supports a 4-button-joystick, but when I configure it directly in the Logitech software (telling him "Button 3 = Enter", "Button 4 = A" etc.) I think it may work (since the pressing of a button should register as typing the command in via keyboard). Or am I mistaken?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

I assume you intend to use WinXX for the environment.
If so then the idea is correct -- You press joystick button,
the software tells windows you pressed a keyboard (scancode)
Dosbox gets fed the scancode as if it came from keyboard.
