Hi there!

I've got serious problems with sounds. There' no any... I've got a SB Live! and there no sound in any dos game that I'm trying to use. Could it be the trouble, that i cannot make it out the correct I/O, IRQ, DMA settings? The IO and the IRQ is shown in the Control Panel (WIN XP Pro), but I don't know the DMA address. Or is something else wrong? Please help, I would like to hear once more the sound of the sonic cannon in X-Com...!

Henci - it does not matter to DOSBox which settings your SB Live! have and what Windows shows about the card.

When you configure your game, you need to configure it according to the settings listed in dosbox.conf, which defaults to

type=sb16
base=220
irq=7
dma=1
hdma=5

for the SoundBlaster 16 emulation.

It does, of course, still matter whether the card works at all or not in Windows however.

sound blaster 16 defalts and best irq for the hardwere were all ways IRQ 5 not 7 😀
some older game will not let you setup the sound hardwere "setup.exe"
