You must have some serious hardware/software issues.

- Check hardware mananger to see if there are some yellow exclamation marks there.
- Check your system for spyware/malware/viruses
- Update drivers
- Do a chkdsk /f + defrag

Not that it matters but DosBox only supports 64mb......

no hardware conflicts, newest drivers, and i spent two days defragmenting my harddrive recently
i hate windows. i'll download the debian package and see if that's any better.

I would run Spybot then CCleaner (crap cleaner). Update and run a virus scanner if you have one. Then install all Windows Updates and latest drivers for video, sound, and motherboard. Make sure no programs are running that don't need to be. Then reduce memsize to 32 and try a different output than overlay.

Also make sure you are using an official version of DOSBox from the sourceforge.net page. Also make sure that the version of SDL.dll you use with it is the one that came with it.

What does he mean "crapped out"?

System shuts down?
Program crash?
BSOD?

The hardware used isn't exactly quality components, either.
