I mounted it and i tried to run it but i got this in the prompt ...

error 2003: Integer divide by 0

NO other windows open or anything. Why is this happening? There is no sound in the program. Its a simple program, its not even a game, it just processes numbers.

Any suggestions?

Try running with a lower number of cycles - that error usually means that a program is running too fast and tries to do some speed-related calculation that causes it to divide by zero and crash.

well...i tried decreasing the cycles...i still got the same error. i went down all the way to 4 cycles and it stopped saying the error but nothing happened. it went back to the prompt without any errors or opening the programming.

any other advise? the program was origionally used on windows 3.1 computer if that helps.

Hard to say what's wrong then, as division by zero can be the result
of just anything.

Some stuff to try:
use the latest CVS version of dosbox (see the dev forum)
try some older dosbox versions
use the program from different paths (path length/depth)
use loadfix (with different values)
try to configure the program (some setup or by fiddling out
command line parameters of the program)
try the dynamic core

Some more advanced things:
use win3.x inside dosbox and run the program there (?)
set up msdos using the diskimage support
