I have the same problem.

Trying to use DOSBOX, also DOSBOX-X on my steamdeck to get the DOS version of MMBASIC to work.

DOSBOX-X version is 2022.09.0
DOSBOX version is v0.74-3

My Goal: they have steamdeck so locked down, I'm just trying to get any "retro like" programming that has some graphics installed. Tried pygame but had some GLib problems, trying MM basic now..

Any help / advice I'd be appreciative (new poster)... I'm pretty savy, but I'd consider myself med tier so I'll try just about anything someone throws my way... worse that can happen is I have to take my ssd out of the deck, and start over.. 🤣...
