Hello everyone:

My laptop is an i7-7700, GTX 1070, so obviously not a configuration that should really be struggling with DOSBox under any imaginable scenario. I run Civilization II in Windows 3.1 and it runs buttery smooth- when it's plugged in. When on battery, it gets incredibly choppy. And yes, I've tried all the things on the laptop end- disabling all throttling settings in BIOS, setting it on maximum performance battery settings, using the Asus gaming software to actually monitor the core speeds- and I can't figure it out.

I'm running just a few percent seemingly on one thread and it's still almost unplayable. I'm wondering if its some configuration issue on the DOSBox end, becuase I tried it on another laptop and got almost the same result. Frameskip helps, but I shouldn't need to use frameskip with such powerful hardware. Any ideas on other things I can try?
