In the game listings it puts the version of dosbox next to it. Is that the only version thats compatible, or am I covered with the newest one?

I downloaded the .58 old version, because it was listed next to the game Im most interested in now...

For the most part, versions of DOSBox newer than those known to work with a specific game will still work. There are a few exceptions though.

For sierra games I recommend 0.63 (the newest) since all the ones I've tried (and I have most fo them) work perfectly without any bugs/crashes/etc.
