Ok, look what I have dig out from the Internet!

Inside the zip in the link below, there are a bunch of font utils for DOS. You are interested in one called "polskie.exe". It's the only thing you need, you can forgot all that freedos stuff. If you run it without parameters it will by default set and keep IMB 852 codepage and polish programmer's keyboard layout. It has also some options to allow you use different codepage, enable second alt and use different font styles. It's resident program but takes only little more than 1kb of RAM.

A dosbox version that allows for simple changing of codepage+keyboard layout.

Wd, I've already tried keyb pl,852 it doesn't work.

I've also read that they are going to apply some cp changing possibility directly in dosbox (?) and if so then all we have to do now is wait. (We already have kind of a solution, which is for Polish only but I suppose that for other languades it is at least a tip which should help a bit)
