I am looking fo an option to define what type of machine shall get emulated.

I mean, I want to specify what speed the software is run regardless the power of the machine running dosbox.

So I am looking fo an option to specify, say: dosbox shall run at the speed of a 386 25 Mhz.

I know that you can specify the cycles. But I don't know what real machine it is equivalent to.

First of alll, see this thread for a little background: Cycle Measurement

Now, to change that behaviour, DOSBox would have to be changed in significant ways. It would probably a lot slower. I doubt it can be done in a way that makes you happy (i.e., that works well enough on today's CPUs). It would be a lot of work, and if you simply tweak cycles until speed seems about right, you get the same effect much faster.
