In 'fire & ice' game run in dosbox (linux, windows) the VGA mode is greyed out, not detected. Only EGA mode is available (and works). If I run the same game in pure DOS VGA works (geforce 6150, geforce FX5200 chips).
try a cvs version.

In DOSBox 0.63 and earlier, F&I can't detect the emulated VGA card. In CVS versions (try this one), it works fine.
I've just built dosbox from cvs source and it works! Thanks for help. cvs dosbox is much better than 0.63 one. Fire & ice works great in vga mode in dosbox.
It's not surprising. CVS builds are more recent.
