Hello, my first post here.

I am trying to run an old batch utility that uses the command "for" that Dosbox those not recognize.

Here is an example line:

for %%f in (temp2\*.e) do call bldpart %%f

Is there another command I can use instead of "for" ?

Will Dosbox support this command in the future?

Thanks,
Bill

DOSBox "DOS" doesn't support the "for" command currently. As games don't use such constructions. The only hope is to wait for a DOSBox patch that includes this functionality.

Maybe it has been implemented in the current CVS, correct me if I'm wrong here DOSBox developeres.

Erik.

You could try 4DOS http://www.4dos.hit.bg/

I just tried the latest build from 1/18/2007 (Holy crap it's still being developed!) and the "FOR" command seems to work.

Mmmm, green text on black background is nice. Too bad it doesn't stick. 🙁
